Trusting God

You can trust the One who sees the whole road.

You may want to trust God more and find that your hands keep tightening around the outcome. You believe He is good, and you still lie awake working the problem. That does not mean your faith is small. It means trust is something you practice, not something you finish.

This is a place to loosen your grip a little and take one small step toward Him.

You are held. You are loved. He has not let go.

You don’t have to trust perfectly to trust Him.

You may feel that real trust would mean no worry at all, and that anything less is failure. It isn’t. Trust in Scripture is not a feeling of certainty. It is a decision to lean on God when you cannot see how things will turn out. You can bring Him your doubts and your questions at the same time. He is not waiting for you to be sure. He is asking you to come. You do not have to release everything today. There are small, honest things that may help, and we can start with just one.

When you can’t see how it will work out.

You have run the scenarios and none of them settle you. The more you try to understand, the less peace you have. Solomon names the trap: leaning on your own understanding. Then he offers something steadier to lean on.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”

— Proverbs 3:5-6

You are not asked to see the whole path. You are asked to acknowledge Him on this step, and to let Him handle the direction.

Remember Who holds you.

Uncertainty makes us grasp for control. Scripture reminds us Whose hand is already holding ours.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.

— Isaiah 41:10

Fear may still be there, and His hand is still there too. You don’t have to feel strong to be upheld. Maybe today’s next step is simply this: Lord, I can’t see the way, and I will trust You with it.

Take one truth with you.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God.”

You don’t have to download anything. You don’t have to buy anything. You don’t have to know how it ends today. Just know that He is with you, and He will uphold you.

Commit it, and let Him do it.

Trusting God is not the same as doing nothing. It is doing what is yours to do and handing over what is not. David walks through it in plain steps, and the last step belongs to God: He will do it.

“Trust in the LORD and do good; Live in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.”

Committing your way to the Lord means telling Him the plan and then leaving it in His hands. You may pick it back up tomorrow. That is fine. Trust is built by setting it down again, as many times as it takes.
